TEXT : JOHN
2 :1 – 12
Romans 1:5
“through Him we received grace and apostleship to call all the Gentiles to the
obedience that comes from faith for His name’s sake”
If you read
the bible with a sensitive heart, you will often be overwhelmed with the great
difficulty of many of it commands: “YOU are to be perfect, as your heavenly
father is perfect” (Mattew 5:48)
“Love your
enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for
those who mistreat you” (Luke 6: 27-28)
“So
therefore, no one of you can be My disciple who does not give up all his own
possessions.” (Luke 14:33). The list goes on and on.
Every parent
wants to instill unquestioning obedience into his child. His safety and very
life may depend on it. And God wants to instill the same kind of obedience, no
matter what, into His children. How can
we possible obey these seemingly impossible commands of the scripture?
However, if
you are willing to trust and obey God and live a holy life, God will reveal
Himself to you and direct your steps as a way of life.
We often
live or lives taking decisions on our own without consulting God yet we still
wants Him to make our paths straight even when we don’t know our destination
but He who knows all has plans for us, and they are plans of good and not of
evil, plans that will get us to an expected end. This is what God expects of
us, that we will count on His word and believe what He has said He will do. And
when we begin with our little steps, He empowers us with the Holy spirit and we
are able to live lives we couldn’t have lived on our own. Yes, He makes us live
extra ordinary lives, a life that we don’t ask but declare and proclaim.
Because Christ Jesus has already done all that there is to be done. And all
that is expected of us is to stand in that knowledge and declare.
Have you ever reasoned to think of
why God will say what we bind on earth is bind in heaven and what we loose on
earth is loosed in heaven?
Yes, that is
the power He has given to us, and many are ignorant of this and have become slaves
conforming to the standards of this world. But the bible said, we are in this
world but not of the world. Ours is in the heavenly places. But we have been
assigned as ambassadors on this earth to show forth the glory of God for we are
royal priesthood, a chosen generation, a nation set on a hill, God’s own people
who He has ordained to show forth the glory of Him who has called us into His
marvelous light.
Summary
God’s
presence in our lives is made more powerful when we live in obedience. All we
need to do is abide in Christ, maintain our first love for Him, and walk in the
power of the Holy Spirit, and we will be able to know the will of God. So as
you continue to walk in the Spirit, He will guide you in making the most
important decisions in the daily life. (John 16:13). The key to knowing God’s
will is to be obedient to the guidance of the Holy Spirit of truth. “Now all
has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter: Fear God and keep His
commandments, for this is the duty of all mankind” (Eccl. 12:13)
